Because women deserve better.
Period.
WHY Period Club ?
I have always felt big fluctuations in how I feel depending on where I am in my hormonal cycle. I was tired of the idea that all the discomfort was just how it is to be a woman and started digging deeper. I have followed that curiosity into the world of women’s health and I want to share everything useful that I’m learning with other women because I think we all deserve to live more comfortably.
We don’t have to be held hostage by our cycles, we can embrace them to empower ourselves to feel our best and leverage our strengths throughout each stage.
Most of the recommendations I have seen around exercise for the luteal and menstrual phases are yin yoga and pilates. Those are both wonderful exercise options, but I personally want to continue strength training, running, swimming, hiking, etc. during all phases of my cycle. I have created programs based on the principles of physiology changes throughout the cycle that account for the potential energy fluctuations that occur which allow for effective training and maintain momentum in all aspects of life.
As I started diving in and learning and talking with all the wonderful women around me I realized I was getting so much benefit that they were missing out on from not talking with each other. Thus the Period Club was born: a space for women to come together and learn about their unique strengths and cycles. A space to go beyond the surface layer and thoroughly understand all the ways our unique rhythms influence our day to day lives.
